  challenges to the teaching of evolution
• Explore the impact of the anti-evolution movement
  on students and teachers
• Address the presumed conflict between religion
  and science
• The goal of the symposium is to set the basis for
  a united effort of scientists, allied with the
  educational, religious and business sectors of
  our society to
• Educate the public about the different but
  complimentary roles of science and religion
• Improve the teaching of science in our public
  schools
• Restore the excitement about science and
  discovery that once characterized the U.S.
