  • Two Major competitors
  • Aloha

  • Strengths
  • Micros allows you to upgrade software rather than
having to replace the whole hardware system
  • Micros goes into detail with key features in
    Product management, and Labor management
  • Micros has been in the industry since 1977, they
have endured the many competitors that have come
and gone and many competitors have benchmarked
    their product off of them
  • Weaknesses
  • Micros does not have a 24-hour 7days a week
staffed help desk to support customers wherever
    they are.
  • Micros does not have pictures of their product on
their website as do the other two competitors,
which makes it look less interesting

  • I have used the Micros POS hardware and software
at my place of work, which is Chilis Grill and

  • Two future enhancements that may improve your
    product or service.
  • I think the implementation of hand-held devices
may improve this system. If every server had a
hand-held device to order and modify food within
pockets reach this would save time instead of
servers having to run to the terminals and
waiting in line to use them.
  • Implementation of Voice activated clock-in for
employees so they can clock in easily by your
voice( I forget to clock in all the time and this
    may make it easier).

  • What are some things that you learned from the
    completion of this project?
  • Micros Systems, Inc. is a very established
    company and product.
  • Micros is like a one-stop shop for all your
    restaurant management needs.
  • Squirrel Systems and Aloha POS are both very
similar and attractive software products as well.
  • I learned that the recent enhancement was the
Menu Item Price Inquire function key, which
displays the price of a menu item without
ringing in a new check or sale.
