WELCOME!!!
  • Your hotel will be the Washington Inn.
  • You will be touring the Supreme Court Building,
    the Capitol, Arlington National Cemetery, and the
    Tomb of the Unknowns.
  • Hope you have fun!!!

Breakfast
  • Today, for breakfast, you will be eating at
    Walker Bros. The special of the day is cinnamon
    pancakes. Only a 1 per pancake for hotel
    guest.

Your first stop will be the Supreme Court building

Supreme Court
  • The Supreme Court contains 8 justices and a chief
    justice
  • The chief justice is chosen by the President and
    approved by The Senate.
  • More then 7,500 cases are sent in to the Supreme
    Court each year and only 80-100 cases are
    actually accepted.

Supreme Court
  • Justices have their job for life unless they
    resign or retire.
  • Justices can spend up to 3 months on 1 case.
  • There are no requirements in order to be
    appointed a justice, but all have been trained in
    law.
  • One president, William Howard Taft, was also a
    chief justice.

  • The capitol was made in 1793 in Washington D.C.
  • You can see its beautiful white gleam and, its
    statue of freedom on the top of the Capitol.
  • The Capitol is where the legislative branch
    works.
  • The Capitol was built by Pierre Charles L.
    Enfant, And he accepted to build it.

  • The capitol is were the U.S. makes the laws.
  • The Capitol is located near the Library of
    Congress
  • At the Capitol you can take a tour and you can
    see the old Supreme Court.

  • Same hours as Arlington national cemetery
  • The guards here walk a 60 foot plank in exactly
    21 steps, pause for 21 seconds and then they
    repeat this pattern.

Tomb of the Unknowns
  • Tomb of the Unknowns is located inside the
    Arlington National Cemetery
  • The Tomb of the Unknowns is a grave for the men
    who fought and died in World War I.
  • Make sure to see the changing of the guards every
    half hour.
