    the assistance of Troy.
  • However after a few battles he too fell by the
hands of Achilles. Achilles like usual drove
Prince Memnons body on a chariot to the wall of
    Troy.
  • Paris then shot an arrow, which was guided by
    Apollo into Achilles heel.

7
  • Ajax carried Achilles body back to the Greek
location, where his body was burned.
  • The arms of Achilles were decided that they
should go to one of two heroes, Ajax or Odysseus.
  • Odysseus won the vote and Ajax was angry because
it was a dishonor to lose this type of vote.
  • Ajax then attempted to kill two men but the
Goddess Athena made Ajax mad. He saw things and
killed Livestock and Birds. He then killed
himself when he came to his senses

8
  • Victory Seemed farther away then ever.
  • They Captured a prophet of troy who told them
they needed Herculess bow and arrows to win. So
they set out and got Philoctete, who held these
    things.
  • Next they heard about a sacred image of Pallas
    Athena, called Palladium.
  • The two greatest soldiers at the time, took it
from Troy at night. After capturing this item,
they learned that the only way they could win,
was getting within the Trojan Walls.

9
The Idea
  • Odysseus developed an idea which would allow the
Greek army to get into Troy.
  • The idea was to have men hide in a giant wooden
horse. The Trojan people would think of it as a
    gift.
  • Also the Greek soldiers not in the horse would go
hide in nearby islands acting like they left.

10
  • They would leave behind one person who would tell
the Trojans that they left without him to make
    the story more believable.
  • If anything went wrong the soldiers in the horse
would surely die, but the rest of the Greek army
    would flee.

11
The Priest
  • The Greeks hid in the horse and put it in front
    of the city of Troy
  • The Trojans didnt know what to do with it and
the priest became suspicious of it
  • Poseidon, the sea god who hated Troy, sent two
    serpents to kill the priest
  • After this the Trojans accepted the horse and
brought it within the city walls

12
The Ambush
  • The Trojans thought the war ended so they
rejoiced and went to their houses
  • At midnight the horse door opened and Greeks came
    out
  • The Greeks ruthlessly butchered the Trojans while
    most couldnt fight back
  • Some Trojans put Greek armor on and killed a few
    Greek warriors
  • Most of Troy was destroyed and burned the night
    of the attack

13

    threw spears at the Greeks
  • They toppled over the tower on the palace killing
    Greeks at the palace doors
  • The Greeks got in the palace and spared the women
and the children killing the Trojan warriors
  • Even though Achilles had spared the king of troy,
his son killed King Priam in front of his wife
    and children.

14
Aeneas
  • He was the only Trojan chief that escaped the
    Greeks
  • He left Troy and his wife who couldnt be saved
    was later killed
  • Aeneas got away safely into the country with his
    father and his son
  • They sailed to Greece and made only because of
the gods help for a Trojan

15
Troy is Fallen
  • Morning came and Troy was completely gone
  • Only Women and Children were left by the Greek
    warriors
  • The Greeks then took all of the survivors and
brought them back to Greece by ships
