Checking Battery Status
  • Can be done two ways
  • One method is to press the Fn key and the F2
    status key
  • Generally displays in the upper left corner of
    the screen
  • Tells you how the system is being powered as well
    as the percentage remaining

5
The method of testing battery status
6
Other Power Items
  • You can also set the Power Management scheme so
that your computer will turn on any time that you
    lift the LCD panel.
  • Done via the BIOS (Set up) feature
  • At 10 you are prompted to plug into the power
    outlet
  • At 3 system will go into stand by
  • Can be adjusted from Control Panel and Power
    Management

7
Charging Considerations
  • A battery has a finite number of charges thus
think about when you want to charge the battery
  • Bad practice is to teach for one hour and then
return and plug the system in
  • Good practice is to teach for one hour and
continue to fully discharge the battery

8
Charging Considerations (contd)
  • Be cautious with the use of the port replicator
as that will cause the battery to be charged
  • That became my downfall with other systems
  • Battery can be re-calibrated either using the BIOS

9
Caring for the Screen
  • Use only your Tablet PCs pen on the service
  • No regular pens or PDA stylus
  • There are other vendors and styles of pens,
however be certain they work before investing
  • Place nothing heavier than your hand on the screen

10
Caring for the Screen (contd)
  • Do NOT transport with the screen exposed.
  • Always have the screen closed unless using the
    tablet functionality
  • Avoid prolonged direct sunlight exposure
  • Do NOT place liquids directly on the screen

11
When Cleaning
  • Use only a soft rag
  • Use mild spray or water only to clean the screen
  • Best method is to moisten rag slightly and then
    wipe
