2NEW STADIUM IMPORTANT DESIGN CHARACTERISTICS
In order to create a successful and sustainable
major league stadium for the Rays and avoid the
deficiencies of Tropicana Field, the new building
should offer the following characteristics and
opportunities Ingress/Egress Potential sites
must offer multiple transportation access routes
and entry points, and be easily accessible from
throughout the region. The 7 County TBARTA
master plan should be a major consideration.
Unique Destination Surrounding the Stadium
Wide range of entertainment, dining, and retail
amenities that create a unique identity for the
team and the surrounding area. Preference is to
be part of an overall masterplanned mixed use
development.
3 Exciting and Dynamic Fan Experience The
stadium should reflect best practices in the
areas of sight lines, view corridors, concession
areas, circulation, group sales areas, facilities
for a wide-variety of ticket holders, and
family-friendly amenities. Stadium Site The
site must accommodate fan needs outside of the
facility, including welcoming plazas and wide
sidewalks, pedestrian gateways, shaded gathering
areas, fan services for guests with special
needs, and convenient parking and drop-off
areas.

- seating capacity of approximately 37,000 no
