• Daniel Boone, born in 1734 in Pennsylvania,
  later moved to North Carolina.

• As a result of his exploration, early Americans
  moved west.

• Boone became interested in exploring Kentucky.

• He led settlers over the Appalachian Mountains
  into Kentucky. The trail became known as the
  Wilderness Road.

• Kentucky was beautiful but dangerous. Settlers
  were attacked by Native American tribes there.

• Many people moved to Kentucky when it became a
  state. Boone moved to West Virginia and then
  Missouri, where he died in 1820.
