Essential Question

• How can I create a notebook about North Carolina
  that is helpful in learning about its history?

First things First

• Your Notebook should have a cover page. It
  should include a title and a picture.
• Your notebook should also have a Table of
  Contents. This will let me know how to find
  information.

Animals from NC

• Tell me about animals that are found in large
  numbers in North Carolina.
• Do you remember the different types of animals?

Mammals

• An animal that has hair and produces milk for its
  young.
• An animal with a backbone, also known as an
  vertebrate.
• Most have sharp senses and a large brain.

Reptiles

• Reptiles have dry, scaly skin.
• They are also vertebrates.

Arthropods

• An animal without a backbone, also known as an
  invertebrate.
• An animal with legs that have several joints.
  Their bodies have two or more parts and often a
  shells to protect them.

• Choose one of North Carolinas many lighthouses.
• Tell me where it is located.
• How long its has been there.
• Tell me two interesting facts
• Include a picture.

• Economics are the study of how money, goods and
  services are used in society.
• Economy is the way people use resources to meet
  their needs.
• Choose one industry and one product produced in
  North Carolina that supports the economy.
• Write at least two paragraphs about each.

• We have studied lots of different kinds of poetry
  this year.
• Write two poems about North Carolina.
• You may choose from Haiku, Cinquain, Diamante,
  Limerick, Rhyming or Free Verse
