Case1 Acute STI

• Gerald is 29 yr old Chinese gay man on holiday in
  Ayr
• 3 day history of purulent discharge
• Wants full check up including rectal and
  pharyngeal tests HIV Hep B vax
• Leaving the country in 3 weeks but happy for
  letter to go to his partners address while away
• Doesnt want details sent to his GP in London at
  this point

Case 1/

• Has GC diagnosed given cefixime and a blue
  script for doxy as the clinic has run out
• Gives basic details of anonymous contact
• Asks for letter to take to local clinic back home
• Hep B test comes back showing HBsAg health
  advisers need to recall twice by phone
• 4 weeks later rings up asking for letter to go to
  GP after all saying he had used assumed name and
  DoB.

Case 2 Emergency Contraception

• Mary is 15 yrs old
• Unprotected sex 4 days ago seeking emergency
  contraception with last UPSI 2 months ago
• Wants chlamydia screening
• lt16 proforma completed / fraser competence
  assessed
• Doesnt want GP or mum to know but OK for results
  to go to mobile

Case 2

• Both urine and cervical chlamydia sent
• IUD fitted and prophylactic antibiotics given
• Given appt for 3 weeks which she DNAs
• Chlamydia result positive but already treated.
  Requires recall for partner notification
• Returns and starts Depo injection giving details
  of her partner
