4Mandate
- Student Placement provides assistance to Lakehead
University students, upcoming graduates, and
alumni interested in obtaining permanent,
full-time, contract, international, co-op/intern,
summer, on-campus and part-time employment as
well as volunteer opportunities.
5Services
- Assisting students in preparing resumes, cover
letters, and employment applications, - Assisting students in preparing for job
interviews, - Advertising job opportunities,
- Collecting and forwarding student applications to
employers for interview selection, - Arranging interviews by local area and national
employers, - Providing employment counseling, job search
information, current occupational, career and
corporate resource materials,

International employment information, - Marketing the on-campus recruitment program,
- Maintaining extensive contacts of potential
employers of our graduates, - Co-ordinating and maintaining student and

9Co-op Intern Information
- Co-operative Education is a process of learning
often referred to as "Experiential Learning". As
a formal part of the curriculum, it integrates
the student's academic study with work experience
in co-operating employer organizations. - Students enrolled in Co-op are involved in their
education for twelve months of the year. The
year is divided into three terms of four months
each in which academic terms and work terms are
placed in a predetermined alternating pattern. - Co-operative Education offers students an
educational alternative to the more traditional
system of education
