Biofuels Action and Awareness Network (BAAN)

• Biodiesel Processor Project
• Built processor with AS, GSA, private, and the
  Sunrise Rotary Club funding
• Uses waste grease from Canyon Vista dining hall
• Pilot project and hopefully expand to biodiesel
  co-op. (Currently produce approx 25 gallon per
  batch)
• Greenline Project
• Shuttle that runs on 100 biodiesel will happen
  in the near future!
• Educational Efforts
• Present processor and biodiesel information.
  (Earth Week, tabling on campus, Balboa Park,
  Preuss).

CalPIRG

• A national student funded organization.
• CALPIRG students, researchers, advocates, and
  organizers stand up to powerful special interests
  to fight political corruption, make college
  affordable, strengthen voting rights and more.
• Worked to clean up the state's most polluted
  rivers, lakes, and beaches.
• Cleaned up the state's dirtiest power plants,
  educated the community about genetically
  engineered foods, exposed consumer rip-offs, won
  more financial aid money to make college
  affordable, and raised thousands of dollars for
  the hungry and homeless.

Migrant Rights Awareness (MIRA)

• An organization committed to supporting the
  rights of all human beings, regardless of
  immigration status.
• Will soon be starting up a tutor/mentoring
  program with an underserved high school. 
• Campaigns in support of federal and California
  DREAM Acts.
• We are a collective, and operate on the
  principles of equality and shared leadership-- we
  strive to be the change we wish to see in the
  world.

Arusha Project

• A non-profit committed to AIDS relief and womens
  empowerment
• Sends students (and any one else whos
  interested) to Arusha, Tanzania (East Africa) for
  3 weeks every summer and winter to volunteer
  with community-based organizations and NGOs.
• Does community service outreach in San Diego
  through Mamas Kitchen, a meal delivery service
  to those affected by HIV/AIDS.
