LG Targets Fast-Growing Niche TV Market with the
Worlds Only 32-inch Plasma TV
LGE announced its first 32-inch plasma TV,
the 32PC5RV, to be launched in Brazil this month.
This new plasma TV will also be released in 27
nations worldwide by November, including
countries in Central/South and North America,
Europe, CIS region, North and Southwest Asia and
the Middle East. This flat panel TV is an
affordable solution for buyers looking for plasma
TVs in a small size ranges where LCD TVs are
dominant. The 32-inch wide flat panel TV is
the fastest growing segment in the industry, as
the large-size market is becoming saturated. What
has driven this remarkable change is the growing
consumer preference for secondary or private TVs
for the home in the high-end market, and newly
increasing demand for affordable flat panel TVs
in emerging markets. As the smallest and slimmest
plasma TV available, LGs 32PC5RV will broaden
the options for global customers. Its about
carving out a new niche for a growing demand.
When there is a large flat-panel
TV in almost every living room in the high-end
market, people start to want a more personal TV
set for cozier settings, which has led to the
second TV trend. Meanwhile, there is explosive
demand for this size of flat panel TV in emerging
markets, in part due to the 2008 Olympic Games in
Beijing. Until now, people had previously only
been able to buy an LCD TV in this size range. So
we are offering a plasma option, which is also
easier on the eyes, to provide more choice to
consumers, said Simon Kang, president of LGE

for Two Consecutive Years

Indonesias Best Exporting Company for the second
consecutive year. This prestigious Award is
presented by the Indonesias President. Each year
the Indonesian government awards seven companies
on actual exports results, domestic sales
results, technology transfers, social
contribution, public relations, etc. Due to
large marketing investments LGE products, such as
TVs, refrigerators, washing machines, home
theater systems, and audios have number one
market share in Indonesia. Also, by supporting
many educational and cultural events, LGE is
being recognized as a national brand by the
people of Indonesia. . Lee Keeju, executive
vice president of LGEIN, said, By being awarded
the Primaniyarta Award for two years in a row,
LGE has secured its position in the domestic
market and as an exporting company. We plan to
strengthen our marketing strategies to become the
No. 1 brand.

Cost Time Saving Via Connection of Deck Phone
Between Premises
In LGEUK, they use two separate buildings. In
the process of communicating between the two
buildings, J. Kim (LGEUK, IT Supports Group)
found that deck phone access points were in the
server room in each building. Users could only
use one deck phone within their base due to
limited signal strength. This not only restricted
the movement between the buildings but the IT
supporters also missed calls when users needed
their help. Since the focus of the IT department
is on automation and saving time and resources,
to solve these inefficiencies, J. Kim set up new
connections points in each building over the
bridge, where new points on the bridge were
connected to existing pointers in each server
room. He also modified the internet cable to
wireless deck phones. Through these changes,
users are now able to move more freely between
premises. The IT supporters, including J. Kim,
are able to save time by not making unnecessary
trips between premises due to missed calls.
These improvements were made by modifying the
purpose of resources to others by turning the
internet cable to wireless deck phones. Also, by
utilizing existing resources, there was zero cost
involved. J. Kim said, I and all my
colleagues always pursuit of the better solutions
over jobs related with our field. Sometimes it
can be very hard to find but I believe we will be
never failed to get it, there will be always
exist better ways that can make us joyful to
enjoy our work.
