Conclusions
  • Establishment of a steering committee for REEEP
    in Southern Africa is important
  • Regional coverage is important but very slow,
    difficult and costly
  • Local authorities offer a good context for REEEP
    activities
  • There is cautious optimism regarding REEEP very
    low levels of institutional capacity lead to
    skepticism of anything that places demands on
    stakeholders
  • Clarity of implications / expectations of
    partnering needs to be provided
  • Experience of piggy-backing on other events has
    not been effective
