  • Mount Katahdin is 5,268 feet long.
  • The Eastern woodlands have 1,200 islands.
  • The Penobscot River is 350 miles long.

Animals
  • Beside the Penobscot River there are big animals
    moose, dear, caribou, and bears.
  • The smaller animals are muskrat, beaver, and
    rabbit.

Birds
  • The birds are eagles, osprey, herons, loons,
    hummingbirds and puffins.

Sea Life
  • The sea life is shellfish, clams, mussels,
    whelks, periwinkles, squid, crabs, lobster, eels,
    smelt, flounder, shad and skate.

  • The plants are apple, pine, oak, maple, elm,
    birch, blueberry, raspberry, bush sumac, roses,
    lilac, hemlock, balsam fir, basswood, spruce, and

    headdress.
  • A rumor came by and someone forced someone off
    their land which made the Penobscots mad.
  • They started attacking the Europeans.
  • Europeans and Penobscots made a treaty and then
    the Penobscot got their land back.

  • My tribe does exist.
  • They signed the treaty.
  • The Penobscot got eighty million dollars.
  • They will not give their land back so they got
    fifteen thousand acres or more.
  • They got new homes, churches, businesses, and
    clinics.

    major league baseball player. He was a Penobscot
    Indian.
  • The first Maine school was the Indian Mission
    school, which was built in 1896.

  • There were games. One game is cornhusk dolls.
    Another game is walte dice game. A weird stick
    thing to see how far it can go in the snow is
    called snowsnake.
  • They make canoes, stone clubs, knives, moccasins,
    cow horn rattler, and baskets.
