Description
  • The adults have alternating blue and yellowish
    blue/green lines on the body, a yellow tail, a
    black eye mask, white face, and a black band
    around the pectoral fins.

Habitat
  • The emperor angelfish occurs on coral reefs
    throughout much of the Indo-Central Pacific. Also
    it is known to be seen off the central Western
    Australian coast, around the tropical North and
    South, to the central New South Wales coastline,
    and in the East Japan and Australian seas.

What it eats It eats sponge matter, spirulina,
marine algae, nori, pomain lettuce, high-quality
angelfish preparations, clam,frozen shrimp, and
other meaty hems such as brain or kill. Capturing
prey The emperor angelfish eats by manoeuvring at
low speeds to pick up items of food. How it
eats The emperor angel eats by when it catches
the food it crashes it with its strong, beak-like
jaws.

Special Characteristics
  • Some special characteristics are it has a spine
    near the laver edge of the gill cover. It also
    grows up to 24 inches and most fish grow to be a
    few inches. Another thing is it a carnivore
    instead of a herbivore like most angelfish.

Interesting Information
  • Unlike the adult emperor angelfish the juvenile
    emperor angelfish are very dark blue with a
    concentric pattern of white lines. Also the
    lifespan of one is 15 years.
