JCASO Typical OCS Tasks

• Provide advice on policy support Joint Program
  Management as required by Statute
• JCASO maintain awareness of contractor personnel
  in a JOA (SPOT)
• Provide Commanders acquisition guidance to
  multiple components, coalition forces and other
  governmental agencies
• Draft Fragos and Warning Orders, recommend
  LOGSITREP requirements
• Synchronize JOA OCS with outside JOA OCS,
  maximize efficiencies, minimize costs, enhance
  support and reduce competition for resources.

  required to advance the CCDR/JTF Commanders
  intent.

JCASO Mission and Functions

• Maintain a trained, technically competent,
  deployable cadre of acquisition experts who
  remain operationally focused and are able to chop
  to a CCDR upon order.
• 28 permanent military, civilian and contractor
  personnel with expertise in planning
  contingency contracting contingency financing
  contract law and civil engineering
• Provide CCDRs an element aligned with the
  theater chain of command tasked with
• Acquisition program management during combat
  operations, post conflict operations and
  contingency operations.
• Providing Joint focus and cross service
  coordination in theater

  and oversight to the new organization and
  provides it with initial policy, procedures, and

  awareness, conducts turnover and re-deploys to
  garrison

• Reach-Back Capability
• Once a JTSCC is formed, the coordination
  performed by JOCST will be conducted within the
  JTSCC with reach back capability to the JCASO
  organization
