Hiking and Biking

• The Refuge offers over 10 miles of paved trails
  for walking or biking.
• Shore Trail folllows the dunes from the Visitor
  Center 5 miles to Brant Point.

Wildlife Viewing

• View many species of bird, deer, small animals,
  and wild ponys from trails.
• Observation decks give excellent view of ducks,
  geese, and other migratory birds.

Refuge Regulations

• Fishing/crabbing permitted in designated areas.
• Refuge pools closed to all boats.
• Camping not permitted.

• Boats permitted on Brant Point from September 1
  to March 14.
• Open fires prohibited except by special permit.

Safety Information

• Take precautions to avoid ticks that might carry
  Lyme disease.
• Do not approach wildlife.
• Wear protective clothing and use repellent
  against mosquitoes.
