19The history of the ecumenical movement shows that
the Church has different levels of consciousness
of its unity,
that every level of experience is necessary,
20and that unity among Christians is a vital
necessity.
- I declare, as the Successor of the Apostle
Peter, my firm commitment to making the recovery
of full and visible Christian unity a priority of
my Pontificate. -

21Ecumenism is present every time that listening
overcomes intolerance,
22that faith wins over skepticism,
23that discussion overcomes misunderstandings,
24that friendships are built across conceptual
divides,
25and that we can pray together, respecting each
others rites.
26Unity that respects individual identity is
possible
27 Because God is love (John 416).
28Thanks to all friends and supporters of the IES!
29God bless you!
