Lets start with Educators Guide - on the
cascading menu on the CHS Library Front Page.
Click on the box and go to the Guide Choices -
choose Foreign Language.

there for your use. Links can be added from your
Favorites and then you can go to this at any
time without having to remember where your link
is.

Click on the icon to access Refer to the
business card to log-on User-Name
caribou Password viking Remind students that
the icon next to the one we just accessed is for
them to log-on at home. The first time they use
the database, they must set up their user
name/password client priveleges. Then, they can
access the database as they do here at school.
(They will receive an e-mail telling them what to
use for a name and password.)
10Use the search box in the lower right-hand
corner to search all three encyclopedias at the
same time. The search defaults to Article
Titles Only - Choose Full Text for more
complete results.
11Colored icons represent the encyclopedia the
article is posted from. LP Lands and People,
GME Multimedia, EAEncyclopedia Americana
12Encyclopedia Americana offers Journal articles
with teachers guides, Profiles (biographies),
Periodicals (magazines), Editors Picks -good
ideas!)
13Our Maine Databases will offer you the most
information - choose Dictionaries to go to
Britannica. Scroll down the listings for
Professional Collection. Suggest Academic
Search Premier or Mas Ultra for magazine,
newspaper articles which are current.
14To learn how to use the databases, go to our
Educators Guide Choose Tutorials Follow the
instructions for EBSCO Web Community This will be
a good tutorial to use with your students if they
are not familiar with database searching. All
databases are updated daily and will have the
most complete listing of magazines and newspaper
articles available.
