Appearance and Habitat

• They live in sub Antarctic Falkland islands.
• Hops from boulder to boulder.

Chicks and eggs

• The male and the female guard the egg for 32 to
  34 days
• They take turns with each taking care of the egg
• When the chick is about 4 weeks old they huddle
  together
• These large groups are called colonies
• When the chick is hatched the male broods and
  cares for the chick

Interesting Facts

• They seem to pop out of the water onto the rocks
• They hop from rock to rock
• They live in huge groups
• Like their name suggests the Rockhoppers like to
  hop
