In 2005 and 2006 we will develop APL tests for
the following occupations in collaboration with
the sectors- general clerk- car mechanic and
assistant-mechanic- refrigeration technician-
lift technician- call centre operator- showroom
salesman- rigger- mounter- weaver

When to involve the sectors?
  • The sectors were already involved by SERV in the
    development of the occupational standard!
  • Several possibilities
  • After elaboration of a practice test by VDAB
  • During the development process
  • Provision of source material, definition of
    competencies and key skills
  • Description of activities, behavioural indicators
  • Standardization
  • Validation of the APL test by companies, supplied
    or suggested by the sector

When to involve the sectors?
  • VDAB submits a finished product to the sectors
  • From a complete file to a fully elaborated APL
    practice test
  • From a complete file to the concept of the
    practice test
  • The sector account knows the habits and
    sensitivities of the sector
  • The sector account is in the best position to
    know in which phase the sector should be involved
  • VDAB pursues validation by and with the sectors
    because that allows the base of APL to be
    broadened.

E-applications
  • For everyone visualization of the occupation for
    an occupational film. Short version on the
    internet (4 min.), longer versions on CD-ROM in
    all VDAB buildings.
  • For those who want to measure their knowledge!
    About the occupation there are validated online
    knowledge tests (50 tests available)
  • For all VDAB collaborators info about procedure
    and occupational profiles through the database on
    the intranet
  • For the assessors practice tests on a protected
    part of the database
