Food

• The Cherokee ate deer, bear, elk, buffalo,
  squirrels, birds, frogs, fish, mussels and
  crayfish.
• Corn was an important crop to the Cherokee.
• They always used every part of the animal.
• They hunted for their food.
• The Cherokee used maple syrup and honey to
  sweeten their food.

clothing

• The Cherokee wore clothes made out of bear,
  beaver, panther, deer, raccoon and rabbit.
• Men wore deerskin shirts with turkey feathers and
  breechlouts.
• Women and girls wore jewelry around there neck,
  wrists and ankles.
• They made jewelry with shells, seeds, bone,
  animal teeth, stones and feathers in their hair.
• Men wore mowhawks.

Shelter

• The Cherokees winter homes were called Asi and
  there summer homes were called wikiups.
• They built their houses using poles ,tree sapling
  ,mud and wattlematts .
• The Cherokee lived along the Appalachian
  Mountains.
• Their summer homes were built with small trees,
  bamboo stalks and switch grass.
• The states they lived in were Tennessee, Georgia,
  Alabama, Mississippi, North Carolina, South
  Carolina, Louisiana, and Florida.
