Looks like

• Adult whooping cranes are a white color and its
  wing-tips are black.
• It has bare red skin on its head.
• The baby is a rusty brown.

Where it lives

• Whooping cranes live in marshy or swampy areas.
• They travel from Canada to Texas for the winter.

Its Home

• Its nest is made of weeds and leaves in a pile.
• It makes a nest near water.

• It eats

Enemies

• Its enemies are people who destroy the land.
• Foxes.
• Wolves.

Life cycle

• The eggs are incubated for 34 or 35 days.
• Then they hatch and they will grow up to 5 or 4
  feet of the ground.
• They will fly south and mate.
• They usually lay 2 eggs.
• They might have a natural death.

Interesting facts

• Whooping cranes are the tallest birds in North
  America.
• They stand about 5 ft. off the ground.

Why is it endangered?

• It is endangered because some people illegally
  hunt down cranes.
• Cranes hit hydro wires and get electrocuted, and
  people destroy their homes.

How can we protect them?

• We can send a letter to the government, saying
  Dear Government, protect the whooping cranes. Put
  all of them in a reserve and monitor them.
• Put up signs in the country, saying Dont hunt
  whooping cranes.
