Biography

• Born in 1963, in the Australian city of
  Melbourne.
• He went to school in Canberra.
• Most of his education came from books and
  authors.
• Attended Lyneham high, from age 13-16.
• Worked for the army reserve for 4 years.
• He than worked for a truly boring job shuffling
  papers and coding computer forms.
• Received a bachelors degree in writing.
• First published book was Sam, Cars, and the
  Cuckoo.

• He has written over ten books, The Seventh Tower
  series being my favorite.
• He is now, is 39 and has a child that isnt age
  one.

• He has never liked to write full time. Id
  always written and worked on something else at
  the same time. He thinks its too much
  pressure. Like any other author he has a
  love-hate relationship with writing. Its like
  this urge that builds up and needs to be let out
  . The book Sabriel won Best Fantasy Award, and
  Best Young Adult Novel in 1995. The book
  series, The Seventh Tower, made it on the
  Publishers Weekly, for children's bestseller
  list in September, 2001. His fourth book Above
  The Veil, made a brief appearance on the New
  York Times bestseller in April.

• Garth Nix has some pretty amazing strategies
  for writing, if there is something that he writes
  and he thinks it has no potential, he triple
  locks it in a chest Bound with deep chains, under
  a slab of sealed away concrete. But for the most
  part, he doesnt like to share his tips.
• He says his writing tips are for him to know,
  and for people to not find out. He thinks its a
  good idea for you to make up some of your own
  writing tips. Whether its listening to music,
  singing a song, or locking yourself in a bedroom
  until you have at least a rough draft of
  anything, a story, or even a poetry.
