Title: The Nitrogen Cycle

1
The Nitrogen Cycle
  • And its affects on Short Season Sweet Corn Growth
    And Development
  • BY Heather Sloss, Rebecca Hipp, Bob Cowan

2
Purpose
  • The purpose of this project is to study the
affects that different amounts of nitrogen in the
soil has on short season sweet corn growth and
development as well as to demonstrate the Law of
    Diminishing Returns.

3
The Nitrogen Cycle
  • The sequence of chemical and biological
changes undergone by nitrogen as it moves from
the atmosphere into water soil, and living
organisms, and upon death of these organisms
(plants and animals) is recycled through a part
or all of the entire process.

25
Phosphorus Deficiency
  • Plants laying over
  • Leaves and stems turned purple
  • Stunted growth

26
Over Watering
  • Leaching of nutrients
  • Seeds rotting

27
Weeds
  • Competition with plants

28
Temperature
