of the summit is to begin and direct activities
for establishing a unified K-20 performance
accountability system. The summit will provide
an opportunity for task force members to review
and build on Florida's previous accountability
efforts, develop plans for accomplishing task
force objectives, and decide details about future
meetings. O B J E C T I V E S Review
legislative intent and requirements in HB 915.
Present an overview of Florida's accountability
history as background for developing a K-20
Performance Accountability System.
Provide pertinent research and other state
experiences in developing education performance
accountability and linking funding to
performance. Develop preliminary guiding
principles for establishing state and
sector-specific standards and measures. Review
previously proposed K-20 performance measures in
the context of state education mission goals.
Establish the relationship between the K-20
Performance Accountability System measures and
sector measures. Discuss data requirements.
Discuss state and sector data resources for the
K-20 Performance Accountability System, including
data quality and data timeliness. Identify
deliverables and timelines for the K-20 and
Sector Task Forces.
