Preface

• This project is about Vught. Its a small town
  near s Hertogenbosch in Noord-Brabant, the
  Netherlands. Were supposed to think as if we
  were a political party, and work together to get
  the problems, which play in the city of Vught.

Local Authorities

• First there is a mayor, together with three
  aldermen. Their main function is the executive
  committee.
• Also, they make plans for the local council. If
  the local council agrees, the plan will carry
  out.
• But, this way of handling problems costs a lot of
  time, because the council meets just 7 times a
  year, and the problems arent always discovered
  immediately (only when theres enough moaning the
  authorities will show up).

Local Authorities Vught
The mayor and each alderman all have different
tasks. Those tasks could be about safety, or
about the youth, traffic, or what so ever.
Luckily, they can only make sure of the small
problems, and the have to discuss the bigger
problems with the council

Problem 1 The N65

• The N65 cuts through Vught. Also there are lots
  of cars who ride on this road, to work. This
  causes lots of trouble, like
• Separation of 2 parts of Vught
• Faredodgers
• Crossing the N65 isnt safe
• Lots of odour nuisance and noise

Solutions For these problems the local council
wants to go underneath the N65, by constructing a
tunnel, or some other option, by re-routing the
traffic. We think its more important to cut down
a part of t he traffic. You could declaim
separate transport and reclaim public transport,
for instance.

Problem 2 Shop specialized in recycling goods,
closes down

• From January 1st the company, with the shop,
  specialized in recycling goods, closes down. This
  means the citizens of Vught have to chuck their
  secondhand goods in Den Bosch. This costs more
  time, gasoline, and pains.
• But, theres nothing we can do. The local council
  has agreed earlier, and theyre not planning to
  crawl back.
• The reason they wont get back, is this It
  doesnt bring up enough and the ground is
  property of the council. So, theres nothing we
  can do.

Problem 3 The centre of Vught isnt easy to
reach for the citizens of North-Vught

• More problems around the N65. This is in fact
  more precisely the separation problem. Because of
  the N65, the citizens of the north of Vught cant
  reach the center of Vught.
• Because of this these citizens will go shopping
  in Den Bosch, and the center of Vught will be
  neglected.

Solutions The real problem is the N65, which you
cant cross. So the solutions are - Safer
crossings - A tunnel underneath the N65 - A
bridge above the N65

Main problem the youth

• In Vught there are lots of adolescents hanging
  around. The cause lots of noise and damage, done
  to parking lots, bus-stops and other favorite
  spots.
• The people of Vught complain a lot about this.
  But above all, its one of our problems. The one
  adolescent whos hanging around causes all
  adolescents to be discriminated. Thats why its
  our main problem.

• Solutions
• To this problem, there are many solutions. The
  problem is to find the right solution and work
  that out. Some of the options are
• A system called mosquito this sends out sound
  waves in a frequency that only adolescent can
  hear. This is annoying, so they will leave. But,
  the next problem is that theyre now hanging
  somewhere else.
• A community centre for the youth, but this will
  be difficult to work out, because it has to stay
  fun, without any hardship for the neighbours, and
  there also are lots of other problems which you
  have to count on.
• Call in a neighbourhood watch. But, its a
  question whether it will work or the youth will
  just avoid them.

Assessment

• I think it went well. There was a good
  cooperation, everything was clearly explained, no
  unsolvable problems. In fact the only problem was
  the interview with the mayor, which got off to
  late. Fortunately, we finished in time. I dont
  think this could have been better.
