PURPOSE
9PURPOSE
- NALCOMIS provides O-level, I-level and ASD
activities with a - modern, real time, responsive computer based
management - information system. The three objectives of
NALCOMIS are to - increase aircraft readiness by providing
local maintenance, - provide supply managers with timely and
accurate information - required in their day-to-day management and
decision making - process to reduce the administrative burden
on the fleet, and - improve the quality of upline reported data.
10GENERAL INFORMATION
- The Naval Aviation Logistics Command Management
- Information System (NALCOMIS) Intermediate
Maintenance - Activity (IMA) provides aviation maintenance
and material - management with timely, accurate, and complete
information on - which to base daily maintenance and supply
decisions.
11GENERAL INFORMATION
- Using SQs, users are assigned authority to
perform specific tasks - within the IMA application. These tasks are
divided into - subsystems within the application and range
from adding assets - to the system to ordering and issuing repair
parts to MAFs. - Help is provided to assist in the performance
of these tasks. - All processes are based on the requirements set
forth in the - Naval Aviation Maintenance Plan (NAMP). For
additional - process information, refer to the NAMP.
12SYSTEM OVERVIEW
- NALCOMIS IMA provides a means to satisfy the
Naval Aviation - Maintenance Program (NAMP) requirements while
also furnishing - data entry and interface capability with other
major Integrated - Logistics Support (ILS) systems in the naval
aviation logistics - community. NALCOMIS IMA is one of the
optimized applications - in the Naval Tactical Command Support System
(NTCSS) suite. - NALCOMIS IMA offers online, intermediate-level
maintenance - management by
13SYSTEM OVERVIEW

Another noteworthy set of tools also exists for
you to use in finding the information you need
various online documents are available for
selection from the References option on the Help
menu. The first, Application Terms, is a
dictionary of all the control items that appear
on the screen throughout the application.
Although you can access field help from

The next two online documents, the Data Element
Dictionary and the Database Specification, are
most useful to anyone who deals with the
application's database. If you use the Ad Hoc
function to examine and manipulate database
tables, for instance, you can look up
information regarding an element (such as what
table the element resides in) using these
documents. They are linked to each other for
easy access to similar information. GUIDE.
