- Current Research Projects
- Epidemiological Health and Function in the Human
Visual System - Research on the relationship between human
behavior (e.g., smoking, alcohol use, sun
exposure, and antioxidant dietary consumption)
and biological/genetic factors (gender,
ethnicity, eye color), and how these impact
visual health and visual function across the life
span. Establishing epidemiological cross-cultural
comparisons of U.S. ethnic populations (Latino,
Native American, European American, Asian
American and African American) with gender and
age across the life span. - Neuroplasticity in Human Cognitive and Visual
Cortex Processing Study the relationship
between brain plasticity and cognitive neural
processing. - Neuroplasticity in Bilingual Cognitive Processes
Research on the cognitive benefits associated
with bilingualism and cognitive functionsand
structure.
