  • 1775 First Europeans landed on Washington soil.
  • 1805 Lewis Clark reached Washington and the
    Pacific Ocean.
  • 1846 a treaty between it US Britain established
    Washingtons boundaries at the 49th parallel.
  • Congress created the Washington Territory.
  • Washington became a state on November 11, 1889.
  • 1962 Century 21, a worlds fair, was held in
    Seattle.
  • 1980 Mt. St. Helens erupted, causing 57 deaths an
    a lot of damage.
