• SRAM's have transistor patterns, photo-etched
  into silicon
• SRAM bits comprise of four or six transistors
• SRAM takes up more space compared to DRAM
• SRAM chips comprise of thousands or millions of
  identical cells

• DRAM
• (dynamic random access memory)
• only holds data if constantly refreshed
• more complicated but slower than SRAMs
• are cheaper and take up less space than SRAMs
• all systems use DRAM in their systems memory

• DRAM is made from a transistor and a capacitor
• the transistor reads the contents of the
  capacitor
• the small capacitors charge needs refreshing
  thousands of times per second
• it is cheap - it is a series of repeated
  structures
