    1975 in Paris (of a lungs cancer), 1 m 60 for 50
    kg, he was a foundry owner

    Anvers. When he was a soldier, he survived to an
    attack with mustard gas. Nevertheless, he won
    the 5000 m in Anvers.

  • David Douillet, born on February 17th, 1969 in
    Rouen, is a judoka (Roku-Dan),a rank
    corresponding to the white belt red. Hes now
    retired.

    carried off four worldwide titles and a European
    title. This list makes him the biggest French
    judoka in History.

    Games in 1992, when he won a bronze medal in
    judo, in the category heavyweights. In the Games
    in Atlanta, four years later, his adversary in
    lthe semifinal was Naoya Ogawa, that one who
    had beaten him in the semifinal in1992. This
    time, David Douillet won. The true final against
    Ernesto Pérez was easier.

    1996, he managed to preserve his World title of
    the heavyweights in 1997 in Bercy (France) and
    was the Olympic Champion once more in 2000 in
    Sydney (Australia), in spite of a controversy on
    his victory against Shinichi Shinohara. He has
    been the most titled judoka in the world.But
    since the Olympic Games in Athenes, the Japanese
    Nomura has been more titled.
