Program Overview
  • An ambitious and comprehensive big game
    enforcement program for all of Southeast, except
    Yakutat, from 4/21/03 to 5/22/03 involving 4
    agencies and 35 Law Enforcement Officers.

Program Goals
  • Determined in joint agency planning meeting with
    USFS

Primary Goal
  • Increase the total number of hunter field
    contacts with focus on identifying illegal
    transporter and guide operations

Secondary Goals
  • Establish violation benchmark data to use for
    future program evaluation
  • Shooting from boat violations
  • POW road system steelhead enforcement
  • POW multi-day halibut charter fleet enforcement

Program Measures
  • 1 Desire is to evaluate value/effectiveness of
    the program

Measures
  • 20 increase in hunter contacts
  • Generation of WIB Intel forms for every hunter
    contact to be used for a follow-up survey at the
    end of the program
  • Follow-up investigation from WIB Intel forms for
    violations not identified in the field

  • The computation of cost per violation in time and
    funding for the program to be used for future
    planning and evaluation.
