What Does It Look Like

• Third largest mammal in the world elephant and
  rhinoceros are bigger
• Brownish grey or black skin
• Large, barrel shaped body
• Short legs
• Huge head
• River Hippo weighs about 5,000 lbs.
• Pygmy Hippo can weigh as much as 2,500 3,000
  lbs.

• Young hippopotamuses stay in mother about 7.5
  months before it is born
