Mimicry

• The close outward resemblance of an animal to its
  surroundings or to some different animal,
  especially for protection or concealment.

This moth caterpillar defends itself by mimicking
a snake.
This Katydid has adapted to mimic a leaf in both
color and shape.

CamouflageCan you find the lizard on the page?
A disguise or false appearance for the purpose of
concealing.
The eyespot on this fish is meant to look like an
eye to confuse predators.

Structural and Behavioral Adaptations

• Structural adaptations are physical features of
  an organism like the bill on a bird or the fur on
  a bear.
• Behavioral adaptations are the things organisms
  do to survive. For example bird calls and
  migration.
