Biography

• Mark Robert Halper grew up in Los Angeles, where
  he still resides.
• Halper graduated from the University of Southern
  California in 1987 with a degree in international
  relations and political science.
• A year later he began studying commercial
  photography at UCLA Extension, and started
  shooting professional assignments in 1989.
• Early clients included The Los Angeles Daily
  Journal, a newspaper for the legal community for
  whom Halper would continue to do work during the
  first seven years of his career.
• In 2002 his business again expanded into a new
  studio on the same property as his Silver Lake
  home. Over the next several years he became
  active in architectural and still life
  photography, in addition to his now
  well-established expertise in photographing
  people.

Mark Haplers picture has one main focused, the
single hello kitty is in focus. Mine picture may
not be as blurry as his, but I have one central
object, which is the pink heart.

The way I interpreted Haplers picture is that
the glasses is reading the newspaper. I mimicked
his photo by using my glasses and making it look
like its looking at the TV. This is my favorite
picture of his.

I dont like my picture because my lighting is
ambient while his is studio lighting. And I think
these pictures really show how lighting can
change the effect of a picture.

Haplers picture is a glass of beverage with a
slice of lime. Mine is still a glass of sparkling
cider but instead of lime, I embellished the
glass with red ribbon.

Haplers picture is a radio station microphone
and the reflection is in the back. Mine is my
black and white stero microphone and the
reflection is on the bottom.

Haplers photograph is like an advertisement of
this pink and purple necklace. The necklace seems
to be floating. My earrings also seem like its
floating because of the black background and I
blurred out the stem part of the earring. The
earrings real colors are actually silver but the
shoot makes them look bronzed.

Hapler and my picture are very very similar. The
most different is that my lotion is on a black
background and Haplers background is white. I
also shot my lotion from above and Haplers is
shot straight on.

This is one of my least favorite picture because
my picture compared to Haplers is very dark and
I dont like the position or the lighting effect.
I would definitely retake this picture again if I
had a chance.

Haplers picture involves a line of cell phones.
Mine is my single cell phone and the name of the
phone is spelled out with different colors of
paper clip.

Haplers main focus in this picture is the
wrapping ribbon thats shiny and still incased.
My picture is a flowing, bright and unwrapped
ribbon that seems to float due to the black
background. This is also my favorite picture of
mine.
