Climate
  • Savanna has a wet/dry climate. In the dry season
,winter it is a tropical climate.
  • Savanna gets all there rain in the summer. In the
dry season most of the plants die, and the rivers
and streams dry up. Most of the animals migrate
    to find food.
  • It is cooler during the dry season.
  • Winter it is usually about 68 to 86 degrees
temperature 68 to 78 degrees, summer it its 78 to
    86 degrees.
  • There is 10 to 30 inches of rain

Habitat
  • Savannas are comprised mostly of grasses and a
few scattered trees. They cover half the surface
of Africa, large areas of Australia, South
America, and India. That is a lot of the earths
surface! Savannas can result from climate
changes, soil conditions, animal behavior, or
    agricultural practices.

PEOPLE AND THE SAVANNA
  • Some environmental concerns with savannas include
poaching or hunting, overgrazing, and destruction
of land for commercial crops. Many animals in the
savanna, for example, the rhinoceros and zebra,
are endangered and threatened with extinction due
to hunting, poaching, and habitat loss. The
savanna is often damaged when it is used as
    pastureland for non-native domestic cattle.
