What does the Koala Bear eat?
  • The Koala Bear will climb trees to eat gum
leaves. Gum leaves do not contain gum. It is just
the type of tree they name it after.

5
The Koalas Bears Home or Environment
  • The Koala Bears home is in the Australian woods
except for the ones in other countries zoos. In
the wild it can get very hot so most of them are
    getting killed by wild fires.

6
Protection
  • The Koala Bear doesnt really have to protect
itself because it lives most of his/her life in
    the trees.

7
The Koala Bear Babies
  • A baby koala is called a Joey. When the Joey is
born, it is only about 2 cm long, blind, furless,
and its ears have not quite developed. It goes
into its mothers pouch. Before it can eat
leaves, it must eat Pap, which the mother
provides. When it is to big for its mothers
pouch, it leaves and is on its way.

3 Interesting Facts about koalas.
  • Koalas barley drink water, due to their diet of
    eucalyptus leaves. Eucalyptus leaves contain
enough moisture to supply most of the koalas
    water needs.
  • Koalas have slow metabolisms. They sleep for most
    of the day.
  • 3. Females almost always have only one baby at
    a time.

9
2 more interesting facts about koalas.
  • 4. Baby koalas are called Joeys.
  • 5. Koalas almost became extinct. But due to
conservation efforts, koalas have made a
comeback. Loss of natural habitat due to logging,
    residential construction and real estate
development, and farming still keeps koalas at
    risk.
