  • Australia is the sixth largest country in the
    world
  • 90 of the country is very dry, it is called
  • the outback
  • Two big deserts are here the Great Sandy Desert
    and the Great Victoria Desert
  • The longest rivers are the Murray and the Darling

Climate
  • Is very warm
  • Average temperatures range from 23-26C, southern
    areas are hotter

  • Australia is not densely populated
  • Less than 20million people live there, mostly of
    British origin
  • 1.5 create the Aborigines
  • A lot of people come from Europe and Asia

  • The capital of Australia is Canberra
  • Other big cities are Sydney, Melbourne,
    Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Hobart, Darwin.

    textiles, food processing are on high level
  • A lot of mines producing gold, silver, iron,
