Black Bear

• Black Bears are found in the eastern coastal
  plains and in the western mountains of the United
  States.
• Black bears are shy and try to stay way from
  people.
• Black bears eat both meat and plants.
• Black bears do hibernate but, can be awakened
  very easily.

Polar Bear

• They live in the Arctic.
• They have large feet that act as paddles for
  swimming.
• They eat seals, walruses, whales, and fish.
• Polar bears do not hibernate except those who are
  pregnant.
• They are one of the largest carnivores
• alive today.

• Baby Polar Bears are born with their eyes closed.
• Baby Polar Bears start to walk when they are 2
  months old.
• When they are 8 months old they weigh 45 pounds.

• Panda Bears live in the mountain forests of
  China.
• Panda Bears live by themselves except for mothers
  and cubs.
• Panda Bears eat branches, stems and leaves of
  bamboo.
• Panda Bears are mostly active at twilight and
  night.

• Koala Bears are not bears.
• They are related to the kangaroo.
• The reason they are called a bear is because they
  look like a teddy bear.
• They live on the eastern coast of Australia.
• The Koala baby lives in its mothers pouch for 5
  months.
• A Koala can run as fast as a rabbit.
• Koalas sleep for 19 hours.

  eats eucalyptus leaves.
• They eat so many eucalyptus leaves that they
  smell like the leaves.
• Only one Koala Bear lives in each tree.

• They live in the north western part of the United
  States and Alaska.
• They eat vegetation by digging up roots with
  their strong claws.
• They also eat fish and small animals.
• Brown Bears live alone except for mothers and
  cubs.
• Brown Bears hibernate during the winter.
