  • Summary of country presentation /Jordan
  • Biological vectors are present in Jordan
    including mosquitoes, sand flies, flies,
cockroaches and other biting insects but
fortunatellly with little burden of disease.
  • Different governmental and NGOs organizations are
involved in V.C activities with community
participation resulting in a very high cost at
    nationa level.
  • Inter-sectoral coordination is a must and should
be started as soon as possible.
  • There is a need to help Jordan to implement the
NIP on POPs, to dispose of 22 tons of D.D.T and
other obsolete stocks, to bear high cost of D.D.T
alternatives and finally to implement a national
IVM plan of action and full project proposal.
  • Jordan is a country with limited resources and
needs financial and technical assistance in
capacity building and training in entemology,
laboratories, human resources, GIS and disposal
    of hazardous wastes.
