1
JESUS MINISTRY ON EARTH
2
Why Did Jesus Come to Earth?
3
Then Johns disciples told him about all these
things. So John summoned two of his disciples
and sent them to the Lord, asking, Are you the
one who is to come, or should we look for someone
else? When the men reached Him, they said,
John the Baptist sent us to ask you, are you the
one who is to come, or should we look for someone
else?
Luke 7 18-20
4
At that time Jesus healed many people of
diseases, plaques, and evil spirits, and He
granted sight to many blind people. He replied
to them Go and report to John the things you
have seen and heard The blind receive their
sight, the lame walk, those with skin diseases
are healed, the deaf hear, and the dead are
raised, and the poor have the good news preached
to them. And anyone who is not offended because
of Me is blessed.
Luke 7 21 - 23
5
No more let sins and sorrow grow, nor thorn
infest the ground, He comes to make his blessings
flow, far as the curse is found.
6
The Spirit of the Lord is on Me, because He has
anointed Me to preach good news to the poor. He
has sent Me to proclaim freedom to the captives
and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free
the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lords
favor.
7
Summoning the twelve He gave them power and
authority over all demons, and power to heal
diseases. Then He sent them to proclaim the
kingdom of God and heal the sick.
8
God does not accept false fasting
Cry out loudly dont hold back. Raise your voice
like a trumpet. Tell my people their
transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.
They seek me day after day and delight to know
my ways, like a nation that does what is right
and does not abandon the justice of their God.
They ask Me for righteous judgments, the delight
in the nearness of God. Why have we fasted, but
you have not seen? We have denied ourselves but
you havent noticed.
9
The reasons God ignore their fasts
You fast with contention and strife to strike
viciously with your fist. You cannot fast as you
do today, hoping your voice heard on high. Will
the fast I choose be like this A day for a
person to deny himself, to bow his head like a
reed, and to spread out sack cloth and ashes?
Will you call this a fast and a day acceptable
to the Lord?
10
The fast that God wants
Isnt the fast I choose To break the chains of
wickedness to untie the ropes of the yoke, to set
the oppressed free and to tear off every yoke?
11
The fast that God wants
Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, to
bring the poor and homeless into your house, to
clothe the naked when you see him and not to
ignore your own flesh and blood?
12
If you have done these
Then your light will appear like the dawn and
your recovery will come quickly. Your
righteousness will go before you and the Lords
glory will be your rear guard.
13
If you have done these
At that time when you call, the Lord will answer
when you cry out, He will say Here I am. If you
get rid of the yoke from those around you, the
finger pointing and malicious speaking, and if
you offer yourself to the hungry, and satisfy the
afflicted one, then your light will shine in the
darkness and your light will be like noonday.
14
  • Now this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom
she and her daughters had pride, plenty of food
and comfortable security, but didnt support the
poor and the needy. Ezekiel 16 49-50

15
Now the multitude of those who believed were of
one heart and soul, and no one said that any of
his possessions was his own, but instead they
held everything in common. Acts 432
16
Sell your possessions and give to the poor.
Make money bags for yourselves that wont grow
old, an inexhaustible treasure in heaven, where
no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For
where your treasure is there your heart will be
