Sideline Safety Rule

• New FHSAA Football Rule for 2006
• Require that schools/fields place a broken
  restraining line 2-yards outside the sideline
  all the way around the field
• Including in front of the team bench areas
• This is an extension of the current rule

• Coaching Area must be vacated when SNAP is
  IMMINENT
• Up to 3 coaches may be in the Coaching Area
  during dead ball periods
• When is snap IMMINENT?
• Play called and player returns to team?No
• Team gets play in huddle? No
• Huddle breaks? No
• QB is calling signals? YES!

• This unsportsmanlike foul is charged to the head
  coach, unless offender can be specifically
  identified
• Two unsportsmanlike fouls charged to a coach will
  result in the ejection of the coach
• Referee must report the incident to the FHSAA
  using USL conduct form
