Assumptions

• NAGA is a trade association.
• NAGA has been a good conference organizer.
• NAGA earns their conference income from
  exhibitors and attendees.
• NAGA has members with a variety of background,
  from grammar school to Ph.D.
• NAGA asked GD to fill 64 hours of technical
  sessions in 2 days.
• GD has existing short courses that can be
  delivered easily.

Involvement - Technical

• GD will provide
• Panels (having ASME members and local industrial
  people on the panels)
• Research Workshops (industry academics exchange
  information and identify potential collaboration)
• Technical Papers
• Keynotes
• Short courses

Involvement - Financial

• GD will charge each attendee 100 to the
  technical sessions.
• Local ASME chapter will have a 10 kickback from
  NAGA for each registration of non-NAGA members.
• Waive the registration fee for technical
  presenters
• NAGA is providing all conference space
  management with no charge to ASME
• NAGA is entitled to use the ASME logo on their
  promotion materials

Execution Plan

• GD EC member (identified) to work with NAGA on
  the conference organization and promotion
  material
• ASME staff to help with the promotion
• Use ASME Toolbox to organize papers and CD
  publications
• Obtain the conference attendee list

Future Plans

• If successful, GD will negotiate a partnership
  with NAGA
• Recruit financial sponsors for our annual
  conference
• Recruit new volunteers for GD technical
  committees
• Broaden GD membership new members and new
  attendees
