  Mexico and destroyed all but one one ship that
  went back to Cuba.
• After the conquest king Charles of Spain awarded
  him governor and leader of the newly earned land
  (Mexico)
• Cortes came home to his country victorious. He
  led expeditions to Honduras in 1524 and to Baja
  California in north Mexico also.
• Cortes returned to Spain in 1540. his last battle
  was a Spanish attack on Algiers in 1541. he died
  on Dec.2,1547. he was a great warrior and
  explorer to Spain.
