  • A-133 audit, sponsor audits, and internal audits
  • Sponsor financial reporting

Reporting Analysis
  • Has responsibility and central oversight for
  • Internal reporting to investigators,
    administrators and management
  • Federal time certification (effort) reporting
  • Projections, productivity analysis and
    goal-setting
  • Data warehousing

FA Rate, Cost Accounting Standards, and
Financial Compliance
  • Has responsibility and central oversight for
  • The University FA and employee benefit

Program Administration
  • The primary faculty and administrative interface
    for the entire project life cycle, providing a
    single point-of-contact for project management
    and administration from the proposal stage to
    project closeout.

Program Administrators Facilitate Obtaining
Funding
  • Advise faculty and assist in preparing grant
    applications
  • Review proposals and submit to sponsors
  • Negotiate contracts and other agreements
  • Counsel faculty on sponsor regulations and
    restrictions

Perform a Liaison Function
  • Serve as liaison between faculty, academic
    departments and research centers, campus
    administrative units, and funding sources
  • Liaison with general counsel, risk management,
    patents licensing and other administrative
    units

Facilitate Project Management After the Award
  • Establish project funds
  • Provide support for budgets, expenditures, labor
    distributions, reallocations, cost sharing, and
    certain project deliverables
  • Provide information and reports
  • Assist with deficit resolution
  • Close out project funds

Provide Central Oversight
  • Monitor fiscal and program regulatory compliance
  • Monitor to ensure costs are recorded
    appropriately
  • Apply consistent methodology to budget
    development and expenditures
  • Monitor subcontracts

Maintain In-House Expertise
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and expertise in
    federal, state, local and other agency
    regulations and policies to assure fiscal and
    program compliance
  • Be current on applicable laws and circulars which
    affect sponsored program activities

  • Participate in development and implementation of
    sponsored program policies and procedures
  • Develop training sessions for investigators and
    administrators
