Clinical Dietitian

• Responsibilities are 70-90 clinical depending
  on the particular facility
• Clinical responsibilities would include
• Patient screening, nutritional assessment, diet
  instruction, and follow-up whether general or
  specialty
• Review and update of medical chart making
  recommendations where appropriate
• Patient consults when requested
• Participation in patient rounds
• Participation with nutrition support team
• Out-patient counseling

  Dietitian may include
• Diet Office, Diet Tech, trayline supervision
• Assisting in segments of quality assurance
  programs
• In-service training programs to dietary and
  non-dietary staff
• Nutritional education programs to in-patient,

• Membership on interdisciplinary committees
• Assisting in Dietary Department Supervision
• Monitoring and maintenance of cost controls, I.e.
  nourishments, floor supplies, and supplements.
