Habitat
  • Food Source
  • Pigeons, crows, jays, waterfowls, starlings, and
    other medium small birds.
  • They live in open country in the coastal low
lands, in the mountainous high country.

5
Endangered (when why)
  • Reason
  • Is because of a pesticide called DDT which was
used to prevent grasshoppers and other bugs from
eating the crops. Then it caused a chain
    reaction.
  • This is what happened
  • DDT was sprayed gt bugs get infected gt birds eat
infected bugs gt birds become infected gt Falcon
eats infected birds gt Falcons die
  • When
  • 1970

6
Intersecting Fact
  • When it attacks its prey it plunges towards it
at about 175 miles per hour.

7
Action Plan
  • Think of other ways to keep chemicals
environmentally safe so the birds and other
animals dont get hurt by the chemicals.

8
Letter to the Leader
  • Dear Henry Cuellar,
  • Weve conducted studies on Texas Endangered
Species. Our group of three was assigned to
create a project on the Peregrine Falcon which is
a amazing creature. So we have concluded that if
we have more environmentally safe pesticides we
can prevent the Falcon and other creatures from
    being abolished from our world.
  • Sincerely,
  • Abby Diaz, Elizabeth Womack, Alta
    Benton
