• Lost three sons, but did not abandon her faith
• 26 July, 1837 - experienced a special sense of
  the Holy Spirit
• Sarah Lankford - Phoebe Palmers sister,
  experienced the indwelling of the spirit in 1835
  and organized
• Tuesday Meeting for the Promotion of Holiness
  wherein Phoebe Palmer preached weekly
• Those with the Holy Gift had an obligation to
  teach

  Palmer in defense of the women's right to preach
