A Series of Unfortunate Eventsby Lemony Snicket
  • The Reptile Room
  • Presented by Kaitlyn

2
Genre Realistic Fiction
  • Why did I chose The Reptile Room because I
liked the Bad Beginning book 1 because they all
work together! Once I found out that The Reptile
Room was the 2nd book I thought right away. What
did he keep in the reptile room? Also, Why does
he have a reptile room? I highly recommend this
    book!

Authors Purpose
  • I think that Lemony Snickets purpose is to
entertain the reader about 3 unfortunate children
and their very unfortunate events. The
Baudelaires are unfortunate and fortunate for
working together. Lemony Snicket has very
    creative ideas.

In the beginning
  • Mr. Poe drives the Baudelaires down Lousy Lane to
Uncle Montys house. Hoping that Count Olaf
    wont show up again.
  • When they arrived to Uncle Montys house he
served them coconut cake. Violet, the inventor
and Klaus, the reader were enjoying the cake, but
Sunny, the biter doesn't prefer soft stuff, so
    she got a raw carrot.
  • The Baudelaires had a great time with Uncle
Monty the first few days until Uncle Monty left a
note telling how he would have a new partner for
the trip to Peru named Stephano.

6
In the middle
  • Around dinner time there was a knock at the door.
Violet, Klaus, and Sunny walked to the door they
knew Stephano was coming so it had to be him.
  • When they first saw Stephano they thought he
would be kind until they realized it was really
Count Olaf. He called himself Stephano and said
he would be helping Uncle Monty with his trip to
    Peru.
  • Uncle Monty rips up Stephanos ticket because he
found out he was really Count Olaf. The night
before the trip Stephano kills Uncle Monty.

7
In the end
  • One of Count Olafs comrades, the hook handed man
pretended to be the doctor and wore a fake hand.
  • Violet, Klaus, and Sunny tried to convince Mr.
Poe that Stephano killed Uncle Monty, but he
    didnt believe them.
  • Sunny bit off the doctors hand and the hook
handed man and Stephano ran off.

Summary
  • Violet, Klaus, and Sunny moved in with their
Uncle Monty. They had a great time living with
him especially because he was a scientist that
studied snakes- so they were going to Peru.
Until Uncle Monty found out his new assistant is
really Count Olaf a evil man. He called himself
Stephano. When Uncle Monty found out he ripped up
his ticket to Peru. The night before the trip
Stephano kills Uncle Monty and runs off.

Opinion
  • I ABSOLUTELY LOVED this book it was clever for
Lemony Snicket to write something different- no
happy ending! Not that its good, but its
different! Its a sad story but fun to read!
  • I highly recommend this book! If youre a series
reader I say you read A Series Of Unfortunate
    Events.
